Trauma Therapy
Reclaim the capacity to live fully.
Trauma occurs when we experience people and environments which fall short of the care and support we need to thrive.
Trauma, both big and small, leaves a similar impact on the brain and body.
Whether it’s physical, verbal, emotional, or sexual it robs people of the capacity to live fully and authentically…
- “I can’t seem to break this streak of bad relationships.”
- “No matter how successful I am in my life I never feel good enough.”
- “If I don’t look after everything, who will?”
- “I seem to overreact about the smallest things.”
- “I feel numb most of the time and struggle to feel anything.”
When it feels like the past is overwhelming the present, it’s a sign that something significant has occurred.
There are many symptoms that show when a traumatic stress reaction occurs, and they can include:
- Intense fear or helplessness or horror in response to witnessing an event
- Thoughts about the event or worries about what might happen that you can’t shut off
- Acting or feeling like the traumatic event is still happening
- Sensitivity to things that remind you of the event
- Persistent efforts to avoid anything related to the original trauma
- Difficulty falling or staying asleep
- Changes in appetite
- Increased agitation and anger
- Hypervigilance (always being on the lookout for the next painful event)
Trauma disconnects the body’s ability to identify feelings, sensations, and healthy functioning.
I help people reclaim the lost capacity of feeling again…
…and create a capacity to experience intimacy again with their self, God, and others.
You were born with the capacity to healthily communicate feelings and be in need for supportive help from others.
Good trauma work safely engages energy created by the trauma without doing further harm.
I offer work focusing on the trauma injury and aid the brain and body in experiencing, processing, and resolving the harm that has occurred restoring one to a place of authenticity.
You were made to live fully. Begin your path to wholeness.
